HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hi, and Happy New Year!
Are you people going to be going to a countdown somewhere in your city, or to a friend's house for a party?
I hope you are going somewhere to welcome 2011 with your friends and family!
The countdown is my favourite part! I anticipate the 3,.... 2,.... 1,....   HAPPY NEW YEAR!
And then comes the laughing and the hugging and the wonderful moment.  Happy New Year, you say to the people around you. You wish each other 'good luck' for the new year.
*sigh*  Good times, good times. Well, it's not a thing of the past, so every year, I go to the countdown!
Well, once again, I hope you have a wonderful countdown, or party, but above all, a GREAT NEW YEAR!!!
Thanks for tuning in!  May all the best happen for you in the new year!

Harrison Hot Springs!

Hello, fellow readers!
I just got back from a relaxing place called Harrison Hot Springs. It was really great! I was disappointed that it was raining, but I realized that the heavier it rains, the better it is. It's like this because when you're sitting in a hot pool, it's really nice to have raindrops splat on your face and cool you down. Okay, using the word splat makes it sound kind of gross, but it actually feels really good. I went there on the 24th and the 25th, so I couldn't send you a Christmas greeting, sorry...
But it was really great!! If you go there in the nighttime, they have the Christmas lights lit up in the trees, so it's really beautiful.
The fact that you're in an outdoor pool when it's 4 degrees outside is pretty cool. I have to admit it though, it wouldn't have been that fun if I hadn't brought my beach ball!
So if you ever decide that you've earned yourself a vacation and decide to go to Harrison Hot Springs, then be sure to bring some sort of entertainment, like a beach ball or a waterproof toy or something like that.
(romantic music plays) It's because of you readers that I got to go there.
Just kidding! hee hee~~~
It had nothing to do with you guys. *glares*
Anyway, I hope you have an awesome rest of your winter break!!
Bye-bye!

Winter Break!

Hello peoples!  How's your winter break? Mine is going really well! I've had so much fun considering it's only been a few days! Me and my mom have been planning to go pig out at this fancy restraunt at the University Golf Club, go shopping, borrow some books at the library, and so on.
So far we've done.... none of that. But still, just the fact that I don't have to get up early to go to school is awesome! I have lots more leisure time since I don't have to spend 6 hours at school...
Well anyway, since I am going to be (girly voice) "SHOPPIN' 'TILL WE DROPPIN'!"  I'm going to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year right now.  Get all those Christmas decorations up and turn up the volume on that Christmas CD!  I hope you all have fun at all of your Christmas and New Year parties! Let's all welcome 2011 with open arms, and bid a warm good-bye to 2010.

Thank you for reading, and   Happy Holidays!!

Snow...

SNOW!! Please fall... Why in everywhere else there is so much snow that there are EMERGENCY WARNINGS, but in Vancouver, there is rain? (stamps foot on ground) I'm so desperate for snow, I wish we had emergency warnings...
I don't understand why so many adults hate the snow! Well, yes, I do. The roads are dangerous, you have to shovel the driveway, and on and on and on. but in the childrens' perspective, it's a little something like this: SNOW DAY! Yay, no school! And Yay, snowmen and snowball fights and snow forts and sledding and all that!
So since I'm still considered a child, I WANT SNOW. SNOW SNOW SNOW!
This is a pretty short post.. shorter than I thought it would be... but oh well, I'll make a longer one next time!
Stay tuned for more exciting (not necessarily guarunteed) stories of my everyday life!

Book Review #6 ~ Dear George Clooney, Please Marry My Mom

Now this is an example of a really really modern book. Not to mention an example of a really really good one.
So this book is about a girl named Violet living with her little sister, Rosie, and her single mother, Ingrid. This is how Ingrid became single. See, Violet's father is a director for movies and stuff. So Ingrid decided to go and surprise her father by visiting him at the studio. So Ingrid takes 9 year old Violet and 2 year old Rosie to go see their father. They ask around for him, and no one knows where he is. So they go and knock on the door of his trailer, and there is no answer. They were still standing there when another trailer door opened nearby and  a woman with long blonde hair and tons of make-up stepped out. Followed by Violet's father, buckling his belt.
You know that expression, "the colour drained from his face"? That's what happened to Ian, Violet's dad, when he spotted them.
You can kind of guess the rest.
Now Violet is 12, and Rosie is 5.
Her mother is now desperate to find a replacement for Violet's father and starts to date all kinds of guys that are clearly not acceptable, from alcoholics to men who steal things from Violet's mother while they're on their date.
Then one day, her mother meets a man named Dudley Wiener. Yes. It's an unfortunate name. And by this time, Violet has had it, so she tries to set her mom up with George Clooney, her mother's favourite actor. Violet actually has hope for it, because her mother used to work as a hairstylist at a studio that George Clooney was shooting at. She did his hair, and he must've liked her, because he gave her an autographed photo of him that said, 'May our paths cross again.' So she sends a letter to him. But, to her dismay, the letter was left unanswered.
Later, Violet and Rosie go to visit their father, but the real reason Violet is going is to meet George Clooney, because her father lives in L.A. Her father happens to be directing a movie at the same studio as George Clooney. So she plans to follow him along to the studios, find George Clooney, and talk to him about marrying her mother.
As it turns out, she is not allowed to go to the lot where George is shooting, so she steals a golf cart, manages to drive it close to the lot, but crashes into George's car, get's a nasty roadburn, a twisted ankle, and almost a concussion. (ouch that's a lot of boo-boos) She thinks that she spoke to George Clooney, but everyone tells her that he had been shooting the whole time, and that she must've been hallucinating. But later, when she gets back home to Vancouver (!) (My hometown!), she recieved an autographed photo of George Clooney that said, 'To Violet. A better daughter than she is a driver.'
Those were the last words of the book.
So that kind of tells me that she did actually talk to George Clooney. Lucky.
Well, that's my book review! I hope you liked it, and I hope you will read it! It was hard for me to pry my eyes off the page when I read it, so I think you will feel the same!
Thank you for reading!
See you next time!

Piano Festival=Result

Hi again, I'm back with the results.   (Before you declare me a terrible piano player, listen to my explanation.)
To my disappointment, I did not get ranked. (That means I didn't get first, second, or third place.)   Oh well...
Now for the excuses. I know that excuses are never good, but my teacher says it's really hard to get ranked. But it was also my first time trying this particular competition. The kids that I competed with were all only in about grade 3,4, or 5, so it was kind of embarassing to compete against these 'youngsters' and LOSE....
Oh well, I mean, there's a first time for everything, right?  heh heh...
But seriously. At least I tried.
My teacher advised me to bring an eggwarmer or mittens or something to keep my hands warm, because when you're nervous, you obviously get cold feet and hands and stuff like that. I thought eggwarmers were a little exaggerated, but it turns out that I was wrong. My mom insisted that I bring the hot water bottle thingy, and so I did. It really helped. A LOT.
All the other kids were CRAZY good, and I was kind of intimidated by them.
When the adjudicator called my name, I proudly stood up, somehow my nervousness swept away, marched up to the grand piano, and bowed. People clapped. Thank goodness for that. Clapping really reassured me. I sat down, adjusted my seat, and then the wave of fear struck me. All of a sudden, it felt as if my mind had gone blank. I didn't know the song that I had practiced for over 2 months. I focused on my hands for a minute, then I saw the white and black keys. White and black keys...  FINALLY, SOMETHING FAMILIAR! I thought. I took a good hard look, and I started. The song that I had thought I had forgotten just a minute ago came out of my fingertips. I mindlessly played. When I realized the song was over, I stood up with a triumphant smile on my face, secretly glad that it was over, and I went and took my seat.
That's pretty much the long and short of what my experience at the festival was.
I thought I did pretty well for a 'newbie' though.

Well, I guess I'll see you later with a new post!
Good-bye for now!

Piano Festival

*gulp*  I have a Piano Festival coming up. Coming up as in RIGHT NEXT WEEK. I am always nervous before festivals. Whether it is 5 minutes before I play or a month before. I always get worried about what will happen if I mess up. I have practiced for so long now, and I hope I can win this thing. I have completely memorized each little bit of the song. My mom kept telling me to practice 120% out of 100%. She told me that when I get up there, I will get nervous and that will cost me around 20% of all my hard work practicing. Just because I'm nervous. Oh well.
So it will be a semi-formal occasion, but according to my mom, I still have to wear a dress. (wearing a dress is not really at the top of my "favourite things to do" list.) So I'm wearing a fancy black dress with fancy black shoes. I'm not fond of fancy black anything. But it's all I have so I have to wear it whether I like it of not.
I'm going to my teacher's house today to get the feel of playing on a new piano. (new as in I've never ever played it before.) I have to go in my "festival attire."  That means all dressed up as I would to the real thing. So this is pretty much like a rehearsal.
The past 2 weeks I've had to practice the song in my shoes, so I can get the feel of working the pedals with my shoes on. This is a pretty stressing experience. I'm in the competitive division, so they will be giving us prizes. 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place.
Well, I'll report back to you how I did after Wednesday, November 17. That's the date of the REAL THING.
Good-bye!

Immunizations!

Hi! I'm back with a terrifying story... IMMUNIZATIONS!! (Girl screams in backround) Yeah, we got our immunizations two weeks ago. But I survived. I was really nervous, and everyone was sweating and had cold hands and feet. When they were called to the staff room to get the shots and left the classroom, most of our faces were white and were sweaty and had looks of terror on their faces. But they came back into the classroom all happy and cheerful with a lollipop in their mouth. Then it was my turn. I left the room just like everyone else. Scared. When I got in the staff room, there was a couch and we could lounge there until they called us up. We played Jenga there for a while, and then we were having lots of fun, until the nurse called me up. I smiled to hide my terror, and I went and sat down in the chair. I told her I was pretty good with needles. I wasn't really that okay with them. She rolled up my sleeve and held the needle a centimeter away from my arm. She told me to breathe out. I didn't look. It was scary enough to feel the pain. I didn't want to have to see it happen. I looked straight ahead, not down at my arm, and breathed out. Then the needle went in. It pierced through my skin and in went the vaccine. It felt like she was sucking out all my energy and blood. I felt myself go kind of queasy for a second, then regained my strength and looked at my arm. It was fine. You couldn't even see the hole. I smiled at the nurse to show her that I was still alive. I repeated that process once more. I was glad to go, but she really scared me when she told me:
"If you feel any dizziness or nausea, or if you feel queasy in any kind of way, sit down on the floor immediately."
That really scared me. She said it with serious eyes. I wasn't queasy at first, but after she told me, I think I felt a bit queasy. So I sat on the couch for a few minutes just to be sure, then I headed for the classroom with my lollipop.
As I came in through the door, everyone looked at me with a did-you-survive face.
I smiled triumphantly and tapped on the shoulder of the next student to be taken down. The student smiled weakly and asked me a few times if it hurt, then left the class.
I have to admit, the immunizations weren't as bad as I thought they were... but that still doesn't mean that I'm going to be okay with needles from now on!

Well, I'll see you next time with another post~!

Book Review #5 ~ Rules

Hi, I'm back with a book review!!
This book is called "Rules" by Cynthia Lord. This is a touching story about a 12-year-old girl named Catherine who loves art and longs for a friend. She is the sister and often-babysitter for her autistic brother, David, and has a hard time fitting in with her classmates because of David's behaviour. She works hard to help David be more "normal," specifically giving him rules to live by that most people take for granted. Her best friend is away for the summer, visiting her father, so Catherine is excited when she learns that the family moving next door includes a girl her age. She spends most of her summer days helping her mother with David, visiting the clinic where David recieves occupational therapy, and hoping that Christy, her new neighbour, will not be scared off by David's differences. At the clinic, Catherine befriends a wheelchair-bound paraplegic boy named Jason who is also a mute and "talks" through a communication book he keeps with him at all times. The story comes to a sort of predictable climax when Catherine must choose whether or not to invite Jason to a community dance when challenged to do so by Christy, who doesn't know about Jason's disability. This book really helped me feel for children with autism, and I hope you will find some sympathy for them too.
I rate this book a 6 out of 5 stars. It was a fantastic book. I left out some of the parts, because just in case you read this book, I wouldn't want to spoil the whole thing for you. It is really worth reading. Really.
Well, I hope you enjoyed my book review (and I hope you didn't fall asleep during parts of it), and I'll see you next time!

Grade 6 already?

Yes, that's right, I'm in grade 6 now. When I was little, the grade 6s always looked so big and cool to me. Now, I am in grade 6. It almost surprises me how fast time has gone by...
It felt as if the grade 6 and 7s always got to do stuff that us grade 3s couldn't do, and had much more exciting lives. Now, I get to experience a grade 6's life. So far, it's been as great as I expected it to be all those years ago!! I have a great teacher (shout out to you, Ms. McCleary!), a good amount of homework, and a perfect classroom.
I apologize to all my faithful readers (if I still have any readers, that is)for not being able to blog that much during the summer, but I have an excuse. I was having too much fun!! A lot of exciting events happened during the summer, but it's too bad that I didn't get to blog about it...
Today, I found out that my teacher is going to be reading my blog, so I must do my best to impress!!
What I love about my blog is that you get to do this fun kind of writing, not always the serious kind that you have to do at school. You can always joke around in your writing, have fun, and also know that your teacher won't tell you not to do this, and not to do that. (haha.)  And I think it's better than a journal or a diary, because everyone that wants to look at it gets to look at it and comment on it.
Well, from now on, I promise that I will start blogging again, at least once a week. I hope a lot of people will start to read my blog!!

Stay tuned for more stories of my exciting everyday life as a 6th grader!

Book Review #4 ~ Darkwing by Kenneth Oppel

Some of you may know the Silverwing series. (If you don't, you really should read the series!) Kenneth Oppel, the author, seems to take great interest in bats, because he has now made 4 books that are quite thick all about bats. Of course, it is fiction. I admit, writing 4 full books that are non-fiction about bats and their habitat and diet would be pretty boring.
Anyways, Darkwing is sort-of but not really a sequel to the Silverwing series. It is sort of like a prologue, except it's a whole book, and it doesn't have the same characters in it.
So, Darkwing, unlike the Silverwing series, takes place in prehistoric times, where raptors were still lurking around. Dusk is the main character in the story. He is a chiropter. A chiropter pretty much looks like a bat, but it has fur on its wings, and it can't fly. It can only glide. But you see, Dusk's wings are very much bare, and ever since he was pushed off a branch and taught how to glide properly, he had felt the urge to flap, like a bird. But he resisted, not wanting to be any more a freak than he already was. With his bare wings, he felt like a shameful naked newborn.
But he was the first bat of his colony. Now, we all know bats for their ability to see clearly in the dark with their echo vision. Dusk is the only one in his whole colony that can see in the dark. Dusk first figured out that he could see in the dark when he was hunting for a midnight snack. He had sent out his hunting clicks towards a firefly instinctively, and a world etched in silver returned to him.
So he had bare wings, could use his hunting clicks to see in the dark, and he could fly. Sound familiar?
He is a bat. Not a chiropter, but a bat. A completely different kind. Meanwhile, the world starts to change. Beasts start to hunt each other. Birds attack beasts. Can Dusk lead his colony out of distress, in a stressful time?

Report Cards!

Oh no. The dreaded moment. It's time for report cards. Last term. You need a straight 'A' average. And here comes my chance to brag to you.

I got straight 'A's on term three, as well as on the final marks. Oh yeah! I did great. But wait. Listen to this. On the last day assembly, I got called up to the front. Why? Because I won a certificate. Our principal announced, "We have 2 new awards this year. One for perfect attendance, and one for outstanding performance and having an average of straight 'A's for the year."

And I thought, naw, that can't be me. I didn't get straight 'A's on my first term. And what do you know, the first person to be called up to the front was me! Yes, me! I was so proud of myself! There were only 3 people of the 365 people that went to our school that got that award. Yes, I was one of the 3 people that that got the certificate. And the other 2 people were in grade 7!!! When I came home, I hollered, "Mom! Come take a look at my report card!!"

She came over and pulled out my report card, and stared at the straight 'A's. She was happy. I have to say happy, and nothing more like "she was screaming with happiness" or "she jumped for joy" because when I showed her that I got on the Principal's List, and explained how it was much better than getting on the honor roll, (This is the proper time to use it) she was screaming with happiness. Literally. Screaming.

And so was I. All you readers, please tell me what you were extremely proud of this year by commenting below~

Thank you for reading all the way and hearing me brag about my wonderful 'last day of school'!

Book Review #3 ~ The Name of this Book is Secret

Hi~! Back with yet another book review! The name of this book is: "The Name Of This Book Is Secret". Yup, find that a little confusing, eh?

So this book starts with a girl named Cassandra (Cass for short), who is at her grandfather's house. There has been a recent death of a magician in their neighborhood. (Think about it. A MAGICIAN. Do you really think he died?) Cass is a survivalist. She is prepared for anything from their school being built on top of a toxic waste dump, to a nuclear bombing. She carries a space blanket and a flashlight in her backpack AT ALL TIMES. She never likes to take her backpack off, by the way.
She has a friend named Max-Earnest. I know, its a mouthful. His name is Max-Earnest because when he was born, his parents couldn't decide whether to name hin Max, or Earnest. His mom wanted to call him Max. His dad wanted to call him Earnest. They got into a huge fight as soon as he was born. Trust me, it was a huge fight. The doctors said they needed a name to put on the birth certificate, so they put both names on the certificate. After that, his parents were so angry at each other that they got divorced as soon as they left the hospital.
So back to the story, shall we? Max-Earnest and Cass went to "check out" the magician's house. As soon as they enter the house, they are at a dead end. A 1 meter by 1 meter porch, and then a door on one side. This door is in fact, an elevator. Yes, the magician's house is underground. You need a magic word to make the elevator go up and down. Let's think. A magician... what's the word...Oh! I got it! Abracadabra, right? WRONG! The magic word is....Please. They go down into the magician's home and start to explore, when someone else comes down. A realtor. She has a young couple with her. Of course, Cass and Max-Earnest don't want to get caught. So they hide in the bathroom. One of them accidentally leans and flushes the toilet, only to open a secret door to the magician's study. They hide in the magician's study and find a box called labeled, "The Symphony of Smells". It is filled with little glass vials that has little bits of different coloured powders. They find this and the magician's journal/notebook kind of thing. Except all the pages are blank besides the first page. This "young couple" look very young indeed, and are striking. They have not a single blemish on their skin, and... dare I use this word... they are what you call perfect. Anyways, the lady is beautiful, with golden hair and covered with jewlery from head to toe. They see Cass and Max-Earnest when they make a break for it with the magician's notebook and the symphony of smells. They call them dirty names that I don't want to mention here while the elevators closed on the two kids. They saw that the two kids had the notebook, and looked like they wanted the notebook really badly. When Cass and Max-Earnest got home, they took a look at the notebook. Only the first page was filled up... or so it seemed. After they solved the code that was on the first page of the journal, they figured that the magician couldn't have just left the whole notebook blank. But there, on the underside of the double-sided pages, was writing. So it opened up like an accordian. I think the magician was very clever to think of writing on the underside of the pages where no one would think of looking.
They read a story about the magician and his brother. The story starts in Italy. A horrible man rises to power in Italy, so the magician, Pietro Bergamo, and his brother, Luciano Bergamo, are sent to Kansas by their parents for their own safety. (I would never have wanted to leave my parents). As a good-bye present, the Bergamo brothers recieved a book of magic tricks from their father. They practiced the tricks day and night while they were traveling across the Atlantic Ocean and entertained the crew. When they reached Kansas, they were wandering around until they reached a circus. They couldn't enter the circus tent, but they found a small opening through which they could see everything. They later joined the circus themselves, and became famous as the Bergamo Brothers. Later a lady that had blue eyes and a waist so tiny she should have herself been a circus attraction came to the Bergamo brothers' tent. She wore long, elegant gloves that reached up to her elbows. Gold jewlery glittered on her everywhere (sounds familiar, doesn't it?). She invited the Bergamo brothers to come have dinner with her. Pietro was being smart and aware and rejected the offer, while Luciano looked like he was a more than a little bit in love with her. So she took Luciano and left Pietro behind. Luciano didn't come back. Pietro spent the whole night waiting for Luciano, but he didn't come. He later found out that the ringmaster had agreed to the woman to sell the boys to her. He was infuriated and left the circus, in search of his brother.
So that is the story of the Bergamo brothers.
The interesting thing about this story is that, all throughout the book, it mentions how there is a "terrible secret" and if you knew it your life would immediately change from that point on and it would never be the same, not to mention endanger your life and maybe make you go mad. But you never find out what the terrible secret is. I think there might be a 2nd book, and it might tell you the "terrible secret." *SCREAM* [Dramatic Music]So maybe one of you readers could read the 2nd book (if there is one) and tell me the "terrible secret." *SCREAM* [Dramatic Music]

Siblings

Yes, today's topic is about siblings. Even though I have not talked about mine, I do have one. I have an older brother. I am not going to tell you his real name though (because I don't want any of you creepy stalkers out there to get him). Lets just call him... John. Okay, so you might think that he might be just about 2 or 3 or 4 years older than me right? Wrong! Here's the big shocker. He is 23 years old. Yup. I'm 10. 13 years difference. He doesn't even live with me and my mom and my dad anymore. Uh huh. Our boy has grown up so fast. He lives in Korea now. The thing is, siblings that have 2 or 3 or 4 years difference between them fight 24/7. But y'know, when it comes to 13 years difference..... you find that not too many fights happen. Especially when your sibling lives in a different country. But actually, when I was little, every little joke that "John" pulled on me was a big deal to me. I couldn't take the joke. My brother probably found that out the first time he tried it on me, but he just kept doing it. And I just kept crying...and crying and crying. My mom would give "John" a slap on the back every time he made me cry, and sometimes I would stop crying and give my brother and evil smirk from behind my mom's skirt. That is why he despised me when I was little. But now we've gotten more mature, and we don't fight as much anymore. Well, at least one of us has.... Ha ha, I'm just kidding. Most of you that have siblings have probably been around your sibling for almost your whole life right? Well, for me, it's different. I am 10 right now, and I have only lived with my brother for... around 4 or 5 years of my life. Most of you hate your siblings, but when you have been around them for less than half of your life, trust me, you want them with you. *sigh* I'm gonna' go call my brother now...

Book Review #2 ~ The Giver

Hello again! Back to review another book! This one is called "The Giver". This is a sort of sad story. So the story starts in a town where everyone is brainwashed from birth. They have no idea what it is to feel actual sorrow, and love for someone. People don't have their own babies, but there are certain women called birthmothers who give birth to children, and give those babies to the nurturers. The nurturers take care of the babies until they are old and healthy enough to be "given" to a chosen family. And each family is only to have 2 children. Even for marriage, it is basically the same thing. There are the most important people of the community, called the "Elders". They are like government. They make almost all the descisions, including who would be each other's spouse. They have no real feelings for each other. They are distinguished into age groups until they are 12, which is when they are actually considered adultlike. Like let's say that you were 10 years old. Then they would say that you are "a 10". And they have ceremonies when you turn a year older. But you don't really have a specific birthday. Everybody turns older on December. It is not that everybody has the same birthday, but just that they all celebrate it on the same day. (In my opinion, this just takes the fun out of birthdays. Birthdays are one of those awesome days where you get to be treated special. They give you a feeling of pride. You like being "above" everyone else for a change.)The ceremony of 12 is the most important. When you're 12, the Elders select what job you'll have. Pretty much, after the ceremony of 12, you don't really keep track of your age. Everybody has the same, dark, eyes. But you see, Jonas, the main character, has pale eyes. This indicates that he hasn't been brainwashed properly. Others can't see colours, or hear music, but Jonas is the only one that starts to see colours. There is a certain person in the Council of Elders called the Reciever. When Jonas became a 12, his name was skipped in the giving of jobs. He was very shocked. Then he was informed that he was to be the new Reciever. The reciever is very special. He has the highest honor in the whole town. The Reciever is the only one in the whole town who holds the memories of the past. He pretty much bears everyone's painful memories for them. When Jonas becomes the new Reciever, he then thinks the whole community has the right to, and needs to have these memories for themselves. I think that being brainwashed from birth makes you no better than a robot, trained to do everything. You need these feelings and memories of peace and war, for they will help teach you lessons, and educate you in the way of life. You need the power to think your own thoughts and decide your own decsions. You need these memories to get you through hardships in life.

Book Review #1 ~ Olive's Ocean

Hi again~!I decided to give book reviews! Through these reviews, you'll know what books are good too! Today I'll be reviewing the book, "Olive's Ocean". I just finished reading this book, and I loved it. It was a wonderful and touching story about a girl named Martha who is saddened deeply by the death of a new girl at school who was constantly being teased named Olive. Martha barely gets to know Olive, but was the nicest person that Olive knew. Olive gets hit by a car when she was riding her bike without a helmet (tsk, tsk, tsk). Olive's mother then gives Martha a page of Olive's journal, mentioning how she loves the ocean, and how she would one day love to see the Atlantic. It also mentions how Martha was the nicest person in her whole school, and how she would one day like to be bestest friends with Martha. Martha goes on vacation to her grandmother's house, which is resting on a beautiful cliff looking over the Atlantic ocean. a.k.a Martha's favourite place in the whole entire world. I'm not going to spoil this story for you, just in case you read it. But I will tell you this. Martha takes a jar, fills it up with the ocean water, and brings it home to Olive's mother. She calls this little jar full of ocean water.... Olive's Ocean. Cool, huh? But trust me, it's way more touching than my brief discription here. Martha believes that she fulfilled Olive's.... dying wish, let's say. She brought Olive the ocean.

The Karate Kid

So there I was, watching TV, and then.... BLAM! "The Karate Kid. In theatres June 11." After I saw the trailer, (about 25 times) I knew I had to to go see that movie. But you know, I didn't really feel like spending my money. I know, I know, it's stupid of me to think that I can go to a movie without spending at least 30 bucks (I'm talking jumbo popcorn, a large drink, and a few bags of candy) . Hmm..... you know, if you think about me grieving like this with $150 in my pocket, not wanting to spend any money, but really really wanting to go see that movie, it's kinda' sad, isn't it? I mean, all I need is my parents permission, right?.....heh heh......uhh....... yup, I'm probably not gonna go see that movie. Well, if any of you readers out there watch that movie, be sure to tell me if it's any good by commenting below!

Hello Earthlings~!

Hi! Today's topic will be about.......
-DRUMROLL-
Me~! Yes, me. A very exciting topic in my opinion. And don't worry, I won't bore you by telling you what kind of toothpaste I use.
But First of all, let me tell you this. I have a serious phobia of stalkers, so I'm going to keep this brief.
I am a bookworm. Yes, I almost literally devour the pages. And I am a girl. I was actually born in Korea, but I moved here when i was 1, and I have a Canadian citizenship, so I guess that makes me a Canadian! And boy am I proud!
Today I went to school.
Yes, i still go to school. Who did you think I was, a single forty year old woman who writes blogs to pass the time?
No, I am still young and lively....sometimes.
Anyways, like I said, I am going to keep this one short.
but remember to come by and read some more amusing posts about me!
