I have SO many good books that I absolutely must share with you, and this is just one of them. This one is also pretty well known; It's called...
Schooled - Gordon Korman
We have our hippie Cap Anderson. (Cap is short for Capricorn.) He has been homeschooled by his Hippie grandmother who raised him. Cap has never watched T.V., tasted a pizza, or heard of a wedgie. When his grandmother falls off of a ladder and lands herself in the hospital, he is forced to move in with a guidance counselor and attend Claverage Middle School. He doesn't know anything that a "normal" kid would know, so he obviously has a hard time adjusting to Middle School. He is the strange kid to everyone until people slowly start to get to know him and befriend him. He teaches students to tye-dye T-shirts and pretty soon many are joining him for his morning tai-chi. He learns to fit in ... at least a bit better than before. The students start to accept his differences as they realize that they could have a few things that they could learn from him. However, he feels like his whole world has been turned upside-down because he can't understand the reason for certain things that everyone knows as normal and everyday things.
I thought this was a very... very capturing book. Once I sat down with the book, I didn't put it down 'till I finished it. It has an interesting plot and I was dying to know what would happen next in Cap's chaotic world. I suggest that you put this on your "Must Read" list ~~Well, until next time people, bye bye!
