Book Review #3 ~ The Name of this Book is Secret

Hi~! Back with yet another book review! The name of this book is: "The Name Of This Book Is Secret". Yup, find that a little confusing, eh?

So this book starts with a girl named Cassandra (Cass for short), who is at her grandfather's house. There has been a recent death of a magician in their neighborhood. (Think about it. A MAGICIAN. Do you really think he died?) Cass is a survivalist. She is prepared for anything from their school being built on top of a toxic waste dump, to a nuclear bombing. She carries a space blanket and a flashlight in her backpack AT ALL TIMES. She never likes to take her backpack off, by the way.
She has a friend named Max-Earnest. I know, its a mouthful. His name is Max-Earnest because when he was born, his parents couldn't decide whether to name hin Max, or Earnest. His mom wanted to call him Max. His dad wanted to call him Earnest. They got into a huge fight as soon as he was born. Trust me, it was a huge fight. The doctors said they needed a name to put on the birth certificate, so they put both names on the certificate. After that, his parents were so angry at each other that they got divorced as soon as they left the hospital.
So back to the story, shall we? Max-Earnest and Cass went to "check out" the magician's house. As soon as they enter the house, they are at a dead end. A 1 meter by 1 meter porch, and then a door on one side. This door is in fact, an elevator. Yes, the magician's house is underground. You need a magic word to make the elevator go up and down. Let's think. A magician... what's the word...Oh! I got it! Abracadabra, right? WRONG! The magic word is....Please. They go down into the magician's home and start to explore, when someone else comes down. A realtor. She has a young couple with her. Of course, Cass and Max-Earnest don't want to get caught. So they hide in the bathroom. One of them accidentally leans and flushes the toilet, only to open a secret door to the magician's study. They hide in the magician's study and find a box called labeled, "The Symphony of Smells". It is filled with little glass vials that has little bits of different coloured powders. They find this and the magician's journal/notebook kind of thing. Except all the pages are blank besides the first page. This "young couple" look very young indeed, and are striking. They have not a single blemish on their skin, and... dare I use this word... they are what you call perfect. Anyways, the lady is beautiful, with golden hair and covered with jewlery from head to toe. They see Cass and Max-Earnest when they make a break for it with the magician's notebook and the symphony of smells. They call them dirty names that I don't want to mention here while the elevators closed on the two kids. They saw that the two kids had the notebook, and looked like they wanted the notebook really badly. When Cass and Max-Earnest got home, they took a look at the notebook. Only the first page was filled up... or so it seemed. After they solved the code that was on the first page of the journal, they figured that the magician couldn't have just left the whole notebook blank. But there, on the underside of the double-sided pages, was writing. So it opened up like an accordian. I think the magician was very clever to think of writing on the underside of the pages where no one would think of looking.
They read a story about the magician and his brother. The story starts in Italy. A horrible man rises to power in Italy, so the magician, Pietro Bergamo, and his brother, Luciano Bergamo, are sent to Kansas by their parents for their own safety. (I would never have wanted to leave my parents). As a good-bye present, the Bergamo brothers recieved a book of magic tricks from their father. They practiced the tricks day and night while they were traveling across the Atlantic Ocean and entertained the crew. When they reached Kansas, they were wandering around until they reached a circus. They couldn't enter the circus tent, but they found a small opening through which they could see everything. They later joined the circus themselves, and became famous as the Bergamo Brothers. Later a lady that had blue eyes and a waist so tiny she should have herself been a circus attraction came to the Bergamo brothers' tent. She wore long, elegant gloves that reached up to her elbows. Gold jewlery glittered on her everywhere (sounds familiar, doesn't it?). She invited the Bergamo brothers to come have dinner with her. Pietro was being smart and aware and rejected the offer, while Luciano looked like he was a more than a little bit in love with her. So she took Luciano and left Pietro behind. Luciano didn't come back. Pietro spent the whole night waiting for Luciano, but he didn't come. He later found out that the ringmaster had agreed to the woman to sell the boys to her. He was infuriated and left the circus, in search of his brother.
So that is the story of the Bergamo brothers.
The interesting thing about this story is that, all throughout the book, it mentions how there is a "terrible secret" and if you knew it your life would immediately change from that point on and it would never be the same, not to mention endanger your life and maybe make you go mad. But you never find out what the terrible secret is. I think there might be a 2nd book, and it might tell you the "terrible secret." *SCREAM* [Dramatic Music]So maybe one of you readers could read the 2nd book (if there is one) and tell me the "terrible secret." *SCREAM* [Dramatic Music]
