Books to read

Hello Everybody! I have been reading some great books lately (It was because I was sick. There's nothing else to do when you're sick.) and I would really like to share them with you people that are so bored to eventually land on this blog. I think you'd rather be reading a book than sitting in front of the computer, already checked your facebook, already checked your email, and just waiting for something to happen. Well, enough hearing me talk, here are the books that I recommend for Intermmediate Readers:

And that is all the books that I recommend that I have actually read. I have about 100 books written down on my list that I plan to read... sometime in my life. I will write down those 100 books when I finish them, but so far, these are THE BEST BOOKS EVER. So stop sitting in front of the computer and wasting your time, do your brain some good and read. It'll make your teacher/parents happy too.  :)

HI EVERYONE!

I'm sorry I didn't post for a while again... but I just didn't have anything exciting to write about... (I was going to write about my brother coming to Vancouver, but all he does is sleep, so BORINNGG)

Anyways, as you know, it's spring break. During spring break, we're going to Cancun, Mexico!! The INTIRE  (gosh I can't believe I spelled that wrong...)ENTIRE  FAMILY.

3 more days!! I've already started packing! (well no I haven't... I've just wrote a checklist of things that I have to bring...)

So yeah... I just made this post to make you envy me. (stop spazzing, I was just kidding. But you do envy me, right?)

I was just bragging. Oh, right, and just a warning - I will not be blogging for another week or so...

Sorry, but I will be having the time of my life in Mexico!!

I hope all of you have a great spring break, whether you're staying in Vancouver, or going somewhere for Vacation.

Snow, Thunder, And Lightning!

Hi Everyone! Sorry I didn't post for a while...

I just wanted to post about the weird weather patterns Vancouver is having. A few days ago, it was snowing. *scoffs* Now it snows. Not at Christmastime. The snow has bad timing. Must've lost their calendar or something. But it was only one day of snow. But it sure was a whole lot of snow! My mom and I went outside for a walk at night. It was really nice because there was no one out and it was snowing and it was really quiet. You could practically hear the snow falling. It was really nice and I hoped that it would continue to snow the next day. It rains. Obviously. It rained and rained. The first few hours, the snow didn't melt away. At all. Then it rained for 3 days straight. That was enough time for the snow to melt away. All of it. Then yesterday, I found out that the weather was being strangely (well, not really, considering that it's Vancouver) fickle. Here was the weather pattern for yesterday:

sunny, cloudy, rainy, cloudy, sunny, sunny and rainy, hail, sun, wind, then hail.

This was the weather pattern for today:

sunny, cloudy, sunny, cloudy, sunny, cloudy, hail, wind, lightning, thunder, sun. All of a sudden, it started to pour hail (I don't think that makes sense) and then came the thunder..... then came the lightning... WAIT I think it was the other way around. Then the sun came in to save us all (yay) and now it's blinding me. (by the way, the lightning wasn't as intense as in the picture. It was just like a camera flash.)

A lot for a day, huh?  That's what I thought. Well, for those of you who might not live in Vancouver, you are now free to drop your mouth open and go, "WOW, I wish I was that lucky to live in Vancouver." Or "WOW, I'm SO glad I DON'T live in Vancouver."

The Vancouver Canucks!

Hello Everybody!

I have exciting news!

*DRUMROLL*

Our class went to see the Vancouver Canucks practice! (If you don't know who they are, then you are one of the following: stupid  never mind, let's just be nice and say ignorant; lives outside of Canada; lives in a different province in Canada; hates sports so much that they just refuse to watch it-therefore not knowing ANY sports teams.

So now that those of you who don't know who the Vancouver Canucks have classified yourselves into one of those groups, I will actually tell you who they are. (although the picture of what Manny Malhotra is doing sort of gives it away)

So the Vancouver Canucks is a hockey team. A professional hockey team. A few members of the team have played in the Olympics before. They play for Vancouver. (Vancouver is in British Columbia, which is a province in Canada) They're famous to most Vancouverites. So going to see a private practice is a really cool thing. We were all excited and took our cameras and our camcorders and our #1 pointing fingers to the practice. But the thing is, no cheering, hollering, screaming, or clapping is allowed. We're not allowed to use flash on our cameras, either. The lady explained that it was because it would distract them during the practice. Despite all the 'don'ts', it was still really awesome to see them practice. They were so focused. Not once did they look over at us in the stands. They were just so into practicing, practicing, and practicing. It would be extremely hard for me to have that much concentration on... well, on anything, really! We were in the stands munching on our snacks and taking random pictures of them playing. After they finished their practice and hit the showers, we filed into a room and sat there waiting for Manny Malhotra, the member of the Canucks we would be meeting. We waited quietly for the first few minutes, thinking that he would come immediately. But of course, after the first few minutes, we got a little loud and started to play around. He was taking a long time because he was being interviewed by reporters. Their questions were mostly about how he feels about the hockey game coming up tomorrow night. But after a long wait, he finally walked through the doors, showered, clean, and sweat-free. We cheered and clapped. He first told us a little bit about his backround. Then we began to ask questions. He answered them cheerfully with funny answers. But our questions made him laugh more than his answers made us laugh. In the end, we all got a hat, a t-shirt, and a gigantic poster of Manny Maholtra (signed). So all in all, it was an experience that I will NEVER EVER forget. THANK YOU VANCOUVER CANUCKS FOR GIVING US SUCH AN AWESOME OPPORTUNITY TO WATCH YOU PRACTICE!

Book Review #8 ~ The Outsiders

Hello everybody!
Yes, I'm back with another great review about another great book~!
So this one is called 'The Outsiders' by S.E. Hinton. Surprisingly, as I was reading the front of the book, it says the novel was written when the author was 16. Which is absolutely amazing, because this is one of the 100 best books of ALL TIME. Also, of all the books she has written, this is one of the most popular and best-selling. (I think if it's popular, it's probably best-selling.) AUGH JUMPING AROUND SUBJECTS AGAIN >.<
Alright so to the story.

Our protagonist is a 14-year-old boy named Ponyboy. -stifles laugh- Yes, I know, Ponyboy. But he's no wimp. He's part of a gang. The reason? Alright, so after his parents passed away, his loyalties have been completely to his two brothers, Soda and Darry, plus his gang. He didn't care so much for his gang before, but since he has no one else to depend on, he puts his trust in his friends. The gang is made up of a bunch of tough, rough, and rowdy boys who all came from the wrong side of the tracks. They have all been in fistfights, still participate in "Rumbles," and come from pretty sad homes. So Ponyboy is closest with a boy in the gang named Johnny. Johnny and Ponyboy are in the park one night and the rival gang from a higher class town comes and starts to taunt them and torture them. Being the youngest members of their own gang and probably the rival gang too, it makes it hard to fight against them. They fight with everything that they've got and by accident, Johnny kills one of the gang members. The gangfight breaks up after Johnny murders him, and from then on, a nightmare of violence begins and envelops Ponyboy in a turbulent chain of events.

I thought this was a very capturing book, and I honestly had trouble prying my eyes off of the page. It was really that good. I recommend this to everyone, boys and girls. People who have a bit of an adventurous sense will like it even more than I did, probably.

Frustrating... + New computer!

Don't you just hate it when you leave ALL of your math homework at school because you're excited to get outta' school because it's the beginning of a long weekend...?

Well, as you've probably guessed, that happened to me. *sobs* But I only had maybe 10 Qs left (I think...) so I'm thinking I'll go to school early, finish some then, then stay in for recess (only if needed) and finish the rest. Gosh, I'm still really stressed out... I'm scared I might not finish the work in time...

                        Anyway, moving on to the computer!

Good news! Our old computer crashed (for good) after suffering from a virus (no, not that kind of virus. A computer virus.). Well, that's not very good news. But this is the good part: Because the old computer died, (poor old, slow, bad, not good, good-for-nothing computer.) we got to get a new one! It was second-hand, but who really cares. It works really well, and it had Windows 7 installed!! (It's much better than the Windows 5 we had before...) YAY

News4Youth

Hello everybody! I have come back with exciting news! My writing has been posted on a website called News4Youth! (If you think I'm lying, type News4youth on google, click the first thing that comes up, then click "what in the world", then click  'view submissions.' Scroll down and you'll see my writing.)
I don't think I've ever been posted on the website, so this is a pretty big deal for me. The question was: "What advice would you give smokers to stop smoking?" Okay it wasn't really worded like that, but it was something like that. So you pretty much have to answer the question in your best possible writing. Then someone judges whether your writing is good enough to post on the site. You are free to congratulate me now that I am done my post.
